How Divorce Paperwork Support Works
Divorce can be overwhelming enough without having to figure out complicated paperwork on your own. My goal is to make the administrative side of the process feel calmer, clearer, and more manageable. I’ll walk beside you through each step, help you stay organized, and make sure you know what comes next — while keeping legal questions with the appropriate legal professional.
Step 1 — Complimentary Phone Consultation
We start with a brief phone consultation to talk about your situation, the kind of help you’re looking for, and whether Document Doula is the right fit for you.
Step 2 — Gather Your Documents
I’ll provide you with a personalized checklist of the documents and information to gather before we begin.
If organizing or locating those documents feels overwhelming, additional hands-on assistance is available through my VIP Service.
Step 3 — Meet & Organize Everything
For VIP clients, we can meet face-to-face to review the documents you’ve gathered, organize everything, and make sure your paperwork is ready for the next administrative step.
Step 4 — Work Through the Paperwork
Together, we’ll work through the administrative requirements and the forms associated with the process, using the information and instructions available to you.
If a question comes up that requires legal advice or clarification, I’ll let you know so you can speak with a qualified lawyer before proceeding.
Step 5 — Courthouse Filing Support
When your documents are ready, we can meet downtown at the courthouse.
I’ll be there beside you to help you stay organized, understand the administrative filing process, and navigate the practical steps involved in submitting your documents.
Step 6 — Amendments & Follow-Up
Sometimes documents need to be corrected, updated, or amended after they’ve been reviewed.
If that happens, I can help you work through the administrative changes, organize the updated information, and prepare the documents for resubmission.
You Don’t Have to Navigate the Paperwork Alone
Divorce paperwork can feel intimidating, especially when you’re already dealing with a major life change. My role is to make the administrative side of the process feel more organized, understandable, and manageable — while making sure legal questions are directed to the appropriate legal professional.
